SDesk

Remote support that doesn't count your devices.

SDesk is Sofistica’s remote support platform: secure remote control for software houses, IT resellers and technical support teams. It’s the very tool we use every day to assist our own customers — support is the trade we come from, since 1989 — and we put it in the hands of people who do the same job we do.

Unlimited devices. Pay for sessions.

With SDesk you install the agent across your customers’ entire fleet — computers, servers, tills — without counting licences: registered devices are unlimited on every plan. You pay only for concurrent sessions, that is, for how many support connections your operators keep open at the same time: it’s the only thing that actually consumes resources, and the only thing we ask you to choose. You can change plan whenever you need, with no surprises.

A different password for every device

The Achilles’ heel of remote control is the shared password: one code for the whole fleet, and whoever intercepts it gets in everywhere. SDesk removes it at the root: on first start every device generates its own password — random, strong, stored encrypted — and from that moment nobody can overwrite it to steal its identity. Every connection is authorised by a single-use token that expires in 60 seconds, administrative access requires a second factor, and every session leaves a trail: who connected, where, when. The access log is always there to consult.

It goes wherever web pages go

Your customers’ networks are not all welcoming: corporate firewalls, closed ports, strict rules. SDesk travels encrypted over port 443 — the same port as ordinary secure web traffic — so it works even where other tools stop, without asking the customer to open ports or touch their network. And installation is friction-free on the Windows side too: the software is digitally signed, so no “unknown publisher” warnings to scare whoever downloads it.

Born for tills, ready for everything

SDesk grew up assisting thousands of Android points of sale, and it’s full of the care that trade demands: a new terminal configures itself by scanning a QR code on first boot, screen sharing restarts by itself after every reboot, and support begins without anyone touching the device on the other side. At login, every operator finds their address book ready: only the customers and devices assigned to them, managed centrally. And each company’s data lives in an isolated environment, separate from everyone else’s.

SDesk is available today, with clients for Windows, Android and macOS, and unlimited devices from day one. Get in touch and we’ll show you how to bring it into your support workflow.

Frequently asked questions

How does SDesk's concurrent-session model work?

Registered devices are unlimited on every plan: you pay only for how many support sessions your operators keep open at the same time, and you can change plan whenever you need.

Does SDesk work behind corporate firewalls?

Yes: all traffic travels encrypted over port 443, the same port as ordinary secure web pages, so there is no need to open ports or touch the customer's network.

Which systems does SDesk run on?

Clients for Windows (digitally signed), Android and macOS. It is also designed for Android POS terminals: a new device configures itself by scanning a QR code on first boot.

How are remote accesses protected?

Every device generates its own encrypted unique password, every connection is authorised by a single-use token that expires in 60 seconds, and every session stays in the access log.
